Remote Start Causes Problems

The December 17, 2010, Mervin Perez Perez successfully defended his master's thesis entitled: Do novel Spathodea campanulata forests function as habitat for bryophyte? Analysis of diversity and establishment process . The thesis consisted of two chapters: the first describes the results of an ecological inventory of bryophytes in forests consist of exotic species Spathodea campanulata along a gradient of geological substrate and land use history, the second will recount the results of a multifactorial experiment determined habitat quality variables in the establishment of moss Neckeropsis . The thesis in pdf format will appear on the website of Graduate Studies Campus Universitario de Mayagüez.

With Mervin thesis defense met the last requirement for his Master of Science awarded by the Mayagüez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. During the three years that Mervin was in the Tropical Bryology Laboratory, led by Dr. Ines Sastre-De Jesus, besides working on his thesis research also had the opportunity to collaborate with other lab projects such as bryophytes Biodome held in the Dominican Republic. As a result of these collaborations and training had three publications. After returning to Guatemala in January 2011 where he continued his work with the flora of his native country Bryology.
